First Orion PrivacyStar Application for BlackBerry Launches
in Canada
Powerful Privacy Mobile App Allows Users
to Block Unwanted
Calls, Identify Unknown Callers and Telemarketing Violations and More
BOSTON,
Mass. / CONWAY, Ark. – January
13, 2010 – First Orion, a corporation with a significant intellectual
property portfolio dedicated to phone privacy and preference, today announced
the availability of the PrivacyStar™ application for Canadian BlackBerry®
users. PrivacyStar can be downloaded by visiting www.PrivacyStar.com or
BlackBerry App World. In App World simply search PrivacyStar and the download
link will be sent via email.
PrivacyStar is a simple-to-use mobile
app that enables users to take complete control of their phones by blocking any
and all unwanted callers, using Caller Lookup to identify unknown callers and
easily report unwanted telemarketing violators to regulatory enforcement
authorities.
Users can also view all call
information, including how many times a blocked number has called. An
800-search service can even identify those calling from a 1-800 number –
callers can no longer hide behind the 1-800 prefix.
With PrivacyStar, BlackBerry users can
change their phone’s privacy preferences directly on the device or on their own
synchronized personal web portal. Blocked numbers can be added or removed from the
application through their BlackBerry or personal web portal.
The web portal is fully integrated and synchronized with the device and
any change made through either the portal or the device is automatically
synched with the other.
PrivacyStar is the first and only mobile app that helps authorities
identify and locate potential telemarketing violators. PrivacyStar captures
detailed information about possible violations including date, time, number and
identity and allows the
user to effortlessly provide this information to law enforcement authorities for
investigation.
“Since
its launch in September 2008, over seven million people have registered with
Canada’s National Do Not Call List, clearly demonstrating that privacy and the
ability to block unwanted calls are important.” said Keith Fotta, CEO of First
Orion. “PrivacyStar captures the information authorities need to enforce
unsolicited telecommunication rules. Our Caller Lookup feature is very popular
allowing users to identify the name associated with incoming calls. The
recently added 800-search service further enables users to identify callers
calling from 800 numbers.”
