First Orion Announces PrivacyStar Availability at BlackBerry
App World and Adds 800 Search Service
PrivacyStar Allows Users to Effortlessly
Report Telemarketing Violations, Block
Unwanted Calls, Identify Unknown Numbers and More
BOSTON,
Mass. / CONWAY, Ark. – December
29, 2009 – First Orion, a corporation with a significant intellectual
property portfolio dedicated to phone privacy and preference, today announced
the debut of the PrivacyStar™ application for download at BlackBerry® App World™.
Simply search PrivacyStar in App World and the download link will be
sent via email.
PrivacyStar is an easy-to-use yet
powerful privacy app that enables users to block any unwanted caller, report potential
telemarketing violators to regulatory enforcement authorities and identify
unknown callers with Caller Lookup. PrivacyStar will be available via other
smartphones and through telephone carriers beginning early next year.
PrivacyStar is the first and only mobile app that helps authorities
identify and locate potential telemarketing violators. When an unwanted call is
received, PrivacyStar captures detailed information about
possible violations including date, time, number and identity, which allows the user to provide this
information to law enforcement authorities for investigation.
“PrivacyStar
not only lets you control who can call, it also provides regulatory agencies
with new capabilities to identify and stop violators,” said Jeff Stalnaker,
president of First Orion. “Another very popular feature offered is PrivacyStar
Caller Lookup, which allows users to find the name of an unknown caller with a
simple keystroke. At the request of users, we’ve also added an 800 search
service which identifies callers calling from a 1-800 number. Now you can
identify the name associated with incoming calls from these numbers as well.”
PrivacyStar allows users to easily view all call information, including
the number of times PrivacyStar has blocked numbers calling your phone and also
make any changes through the application on their BlackBerry smartphone or
through a personal web portal. The web portal is fully integrated and
synchronized with the device and any changes made through either the portal or
the device is automatically synched with the other.
